Rupee opens low by 5 p at 39.95 per USD

Mumbai, Apr 2: The spot rupee today resumed softer by five paise at 39.95/96 against per US Dollar compared to 39.90/91 on previous day's close on March 28 due to fresh buying Dollar by some nationalise banks along with oils companies, dealers said.

The rupee opened after a gap of four days in a holiday mood, later it fluctuated in a narrow range bound between 39.88 and 40.01 in the noon session. The rupee inched lower due to the inflow of money from overseas, though gains were checked as oil importers bought dollars to meet the current requirement along with strong Indian bources, dealers said.
