Farmer robbed of Rs 7.50 lakh by armed maskedmen in Pehowa

Kurukshetra, Apr 2 (UNI) In a daring daylight crime, three motorcycle-borne youths today fled away after looting a farmer of Rs 7.50 lakh in Pehowa twon of the district.

According to reports, Dalip Singh, a farmer of Asmaanpur had withdrawn Rs 7.50 lakh from the PNB branch of Pehowa this afternoon and accompanied by his nephew was on the way to home.

He took a halt at Guhla road near Bharat Clinic when suddenly three youths with their face wrapped with handkerchiefs, fished a out a revolver and pointed it at him while the other two snatched the bag and sped away.

The red colour mobike did not carry any number on its numberplate except a black bold 2+2 figure. The farmer and others raised an alarm and also reported the matter to the police.

The SHO of Pehowa police station Avtar Singh, had not lodged any FIR till late this evening.

DSP Tejbir Singh claimed that police was investigating the matter and the check-posts has been put up in and around the city to nab the culprits.
