Advocates attack hotel, protesting attack on Tamils in K'taka
Chennai, Apr 2 (UNI) In an act of retaliation, about 25 advocates attacked the Sangeetha Hotel at Parry's Corner area here today, in protest against the attack on Tamils in Karnataka over the Hogenakkal Drinking Water project.
This is the first ever public outcry in the city after the attack on Tamils in Karnataka over the last two days.
Police sources said after throwing away the glasses and plates in the hotel, situated at the High Court premises, the lawyers vent their ire against the hotel, situated on the main road opposite to High Court buildings, and ransacked it.
The hotel was completely damaged.
The advocates also shouted slogans denouncing the attack on Tamils in Karnataka, where pro-Kannada outfits stopped screening of Tamil films and blacked out Tamil satellite channels in protest against the implementation of the Hogenakkal project.
No arrests were made so far in this connection.
