AAI to reduce airport incidents during 2008-09
New Delhi, Apr 2 (UNI) The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has promised to ensure that the bird strike rate is limited to below 0.5 per 10,000 aircraft movements and airport incidents below 1.80 per 100,000 aircraft movements during 2008-09.
In a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Civil Aviation Ministry today, the AAI has identified 15 priority areas in order to achieve gross margin of Rs 2,100 crore in the current fiscal against Rs 1,850 crore in the last fiscal.
The AAI also promises to improve customer satisfaction to 77 per cent, and process 96 per cent of export cargo in two days and import cargo in 24 hours.
The MoU was inked by Civil Aviation Secretary Ashok Chawla and AAI Chairman K Ramalingam, an AAI press release said.
