A cool weekend in offing for Delhi, strong thundershower on weekend

New Delhi, Apr 2 (UNI) After 'unusually hot' weather conditions since the Holi festival, Delhiites could expect a cool weekend in the city with weathermen forecasting strong thundershowers over Delhi and other parts of Northwest India towards the weekend.

Under the influence of a Western disturbance and a induced low level cyclonic circulation and moisture incursion from the Arabian Sea, which resulted in isolated thundershowers and light rain in Delhi yesterday, the city could witness some rainfall on April 4 and 5, the India Met Department said.

Meanwhile the coolness brought about by the rains and thundershowers yesterday persisted today. Even though the maximum temperature rose to 34.5 Degree C, a coolness prevailed in the air.

Weathermen have forecast likelihood of the thunderstorm activity continuing till tomorrow. They have forecast a drop in mercury to 31 Degree C tomorrow.

The Met ofice has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with liklelihood of rain and thundershowers during the next 24 hours.

Light rains and thundershowers yesterday brought Delhiites relief from the unusually hot weather being experienced in the city since the last ten days, plummetting the mercury to 32 Degree Celsius.

The rains, which hit the city in the early hours of the morning, brought tremendous coolness to the air in the city which has been experiencing unusually hot conditions over the last ten days.

The minimum temperature dropped from 22.6 degrees Celsius yesterday to 19.6 degrees today.
