Unaided education policy scrapped in Bihar

Patna, Mar 31(UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today announced to repeal the unaided education policy in the state.

Soon after the zero hour, Mr Kumar made the announcement in the state Assembly saying that the government was committed to development of human resources and for this, several schemes had been introduced.

He also said his government had decided to scrap the unaided education policy and added that the unaided educational institutions with staisfatory performance would be given financial aid from the government which was keen on providing quality-based education to the students.

The Chief Minister said condition of the unaided educational institutions would be reviewed before the sanctioning of grants. He also announced relaxation of the laid standards for sanctioning of the grants to the unaided women's educational institutions.

Mr Kumar expressed pleasure to end the prolonged issue of the unaided educational institutions saying that it was in the interest of the state.

A similar announcement was also made by the Chief Minister in the state legislative council over the unaided education policy.
