Turncoats in fray for Khalilabad bypoll

Siddharthnagar, Mar 31 (UNI) Many turncoats are trying their luck from the Khalilabad parliamentary seat for the April 12 byelection.

Besides, a couple would also be face to face in the contest.

While Balchandra Yadav, two time MP from this seat, is contesting at the Samajwati Party (SP) ticket, his wife Phoola Devi is contesting the bypoll as an Independent candidate.

While, Yadav is meeting people to win their votes, Phoola is preferring to stay indoor.

Four of the candidates, who are contesting the Khalilabad bypoll, are turncoats.

In 2004 Lok Sabha election, Balchandra Yadav, earlier in BSP, was face-to-face with Bheeshm Shankar Tiwari, who was in SP then.

Now, Yadav is in SP and Tiwari in BSP.

Similarly, BJP candidate Chandrashekhar Pandey, who is trying his luck for the first time from this seat, was earlier in the BSP.

Congress candidate Sanjay Jaiswal had earlier fought as an Independent candidate from Rai Nagar Assembly seat under Khalilabad parliamentary constituency.
