Sugarcane crushing from tomorrow till May 31: Kadam
Mumbai, Mar 31 (UNI) Maharashtra Co-operation Minister Dr Patangrao Kadam today said uncrushed sugarcane would be allotted to various factories for crushing from tomorrow till May 31. Replying to a question by Dagdu Sakpal (Shiv Sena), Dr Kadam said the government would consider providing financial assistance for the uncrushed sugarcane after June 1.
He said last year the government had given a compensation of Rs 25,000 per hectare for the uncrushed or standing sugarcane.
Dr Kadam also assured that the farmers would be given all the amount of export subsidy and central excise, adding that payment would also be made for the buffer stock of sugar.
Dr Kadam reiterated that statutory minimum price is a must for all the factories to be paid to the farmers.
