London, March 31 : The bitter old rivalry between Chile and Bolivia was reportedly revived on the sets of James Bond star Daniel Craig's new flick 'Quantum of Solace' recently.

The film, which sees Craig visiting Bolivia, was being shot in neighbouring Chile.

Chileans, who look down on the poorer Bolivians, were enraged when they saw Bolivian flags and uniforms in the city of Antofagasta.

"Chile is Chile. We aren't Bolivian indians. Imperialist British out," the Mirror quoted a protest in a local paper as reading.

As the shooting for the film started, Bolivian militants clashed with Chilean frontier guards.

"We concluded that Chile didn't serve in the plot and opted for Bolivia," James Bond producers said.

Antofagasta mayor Daniel Adaro added: "They are filming in Chile because it's more modern."

In 1879, Chile conquered Antofagasta, with Bolivia losing access to the sea. Since then, they have been bitter enemies.
