Four arrested for possessing fake currencies in AP
Tirupati, Mar 31 (UNI) Police today arrested four people, including a mother and her two daughters and seized Rs 32,600 fake currencies from them near Govindrajula temple near Govindarajula Swamy temple here.
Police said yesterday based on a complaint from a shop-owner, A Venkatarathnam, two children, P Pallavi (14) and her sister B Shruthi (12) were arrested near his shop.
On introgation, the sisters said they came to Tirupati from Mandia district in Karnataka along with their mother B Jayarathnam (38) and another man K N Kumar(35) yesterday for exchange of fake currencies.
They also revealed that Rs 100 denomination fake currency bundless were cleared from one Vijaya Kumar, who belonged to Chennai at Mandia district for committing the offence at piligrim centre.
A case had been registered and investigation was, underway, police added.
