CPI to stage 'Jail Bharo Andolan' against rising inflation
Bhopal, Mar 31 (UNI) The CPI would stage a two-day nationwide 'Jail Bharo Andolan' to protest against the spiraling inflation on April 17.
Madhya Pradesh CPI Secretary Mahendra Vajpayee said the party had decided to halt rail movement (rail roko) and road traffic (rasta roko) besides ''gherao'' government offices across the country.
The decision was taken during the recently held 20th National Convention of the party.
As part of the agitation, thousands of party workers would halt road and rail traffic at several places in all district headquarters in Madhya Pradesh and court arrest.
He said government offices would be 'gheraoed' in places where there was no rail route so that the party workers could court arrest.
Mr Vajpayee demanded that the Centre impose ban on forward trading with immediate effect besides amending the Essential Commodities Act in order to check inflation.
