Cairn India's net loss widens to Rs 78.81 cr

New Delhi , Mar 31: Cairn India Ltd today said it has posted a net loss of Rs 78.81 crore for the year ended December 31, 2007 compared to a net loss at Rs 29.22 crore in the previous calendar year. Its total income is at Rs 33.96 crore for the year ended December 31, 2007 compared to Rs 5.9 crore for the year ended December 31, 2006.

On the consolidated front, the group has posted a net loss after minority interest of Rs 24.54 crore for the year ended December 31, 2007 compared to a net loss of Rs 21.17 crore last year. Group's total income is at Rs 1,144.67 crore for the year ended December 31, 2007 compared to Rs 44.96 crore for the year ended December 31, 2006.

Previous period figures relate to the period from August 21, 2006 (the date of incorporation of the Company) to December 31, 2006, accordingly these figures are not comparable. Previous period figures have been regrouped where necessary to confirm to this year's classification, the statement said.
