BJP organises 'Maha Dharna' demanding house sites for poor

Hyderbaad, Mar 31 (UNI) In an effort to 'lure' the voters of the city for the coming Municipal Corporation elections, the BJP organised a 'Maha dharna' demanding that the government distribute house sites to poor people.

Andhra Pradesh unit BJP President Bandaru Dattatreya, party National Secretary N Indrasena Reddy and party General Secretary K Laxman and other city leaders participated in the dharna, organised at the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) by thee city unit of the BJP.

Alleging that the Congress-ruled state government has cheated the poor by failing to fulfill the promises made by the party that every poor family would get a house, Mr Dattatreya said the poor and middle class people were facing housing problems due to skyrocketing and values.

Warning that the BJP would launch a protracted struggle for the cause of the poor, he said Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had sold the lands to corporate companies and real estate companies, forgetting the plight of the poor in the city.
