Anticipatory bail for AISMK leader in abduction case
Chennai, Mar 31 (UNI) Madras High Court today granted anticipatory bail to All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi State Vice-President Ernavoor Narayanan in a kidnapping case filed by the city police against him and two others.
Mr Justice K Ragupathi allowed the bail petition filed by Narayanan, M Chandrasekaran and A Raman upon furnishing a bond for Rs 10,000 and two sureties for a like sum. He directed them to appear before the police station concerned for two weeks and sign before the investigation officer.
The petitioners submitted that they were running a finance company and one Sudalaikannu had borrowed over Rs two lakh from them. Sudalaikannu had also availed a loan for Rs 5.25 lakh from a private bank by mortgaging the house in his wife's name and the said bank had brought the property for sale. The complainant had then approached them with an offer to sell the property for Rs nine lakh, to which they agreed and settled his dues.
Subsequently, the complainant's wife had executed a general Power of Attorney in favour of their company, on the basis of which they had executed a sale agreement for a consideration of Rs nine lakh.
However, the complainant then lodged a complaint with the Kolathur Inspector, alleging that they had kidnapped him and his wife and executed the power of attorney. The complaint was totally false, fabricated and motivated, they contended, praying to grant them bail.
