Punjab to soon implement health insurance scheme for BPL families
Ludhiana, Mar 30 (UNI) The Punjab government will soon implement a special health insurance scheme for the people belonging to Below Poverty Line families, so that the poor people could also avail the advanced medical facilities in the private hospitals.
This was stated by Punjab Chief Secretary Ramesh Inder Singh, while addressing a function here today.
Giving details of the scheme, the Chief Secretary said that apart from BPL families, the insurance would also be extended to the small farmers and farm labourers through village level agri cooperative societies.
