Night operations of commercial flights inaugurated
Visakhapatnam, Mar 30 (UNI) The Union Minister of State for Mines T Subbarami Reddy today inaugurated the night landing operations of the commercial flights of Spicejet Limited and the Air Travellers India(ATI) association in the city.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the State Government was planning to eastablish an International Airport this year.
For the first time in 60 years history of the airport here, a passenger can go to Hyderabad in the morning and can return at night here.
ATI President D Venkata Reddy honoured the officials of the Airport Authority of India(AAI)and local political leaders, who were responsible for the successfull commissioning of the night landing of aircrafts.
Mr Reddy lauded the performance of the navy here. Eleven flights were operated in a day and airlines like Spicejet, Deccan Air, Paramount Airways, Kingfisher, Jetlite and Airshara were doing a commendable service, he added.
The first night landing of low cost carrier Spicejet Limited would arrive here from New Delhi via Hyderabad at 1930 hrs and would be flagged off at 1950 hrs.
