Shimla, Mar 30(UNI) News Service Division of All India Radio (AIR), Shimla is launching News on Phone (NOP) service from AIR Shimla on April 4.
Mr B S Lalli, CEO Prasar Bharati, will inaugurate the service.
News on phone provided by News Service Division of All India Radio, Prasar Bharati in which any person with access to a telephone can dial number 125800 and 125900 and get latest news.
The news is in the format of short news updates and are updated every hour.
A listener does not have to wait for the scheduled broadcast time to know the latest news headlines now.
The NOP service provides national and regional news updates on two seprate numbers and usually in two different languages for each state to cater to the requirements of the listeners.
