Hooda announces Palwal as new district of Haryana

Palwal, Faridabad, Mar 30 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced to make Palwal the 21st district of Haryana.

The Chief Minister while addressing the "Vikas Rally" here in HUDA's ground, said a committee would be constituted to identify the areas for including in the new district.

The rally was organised by Palwal MLA and Chairman of the Haryana Administrative Reforms Commission, Karan Singh Dalal.

While accepting the demand for the new district raised by Mr Dalal, the CM remarked that this demand should have been raised earlier as Palwal deserved to be upgraded as a district because of its glorious past.

He said that he had made up his mind to declare Palwal as district in 1997 itself wheh he was a State Congress Chief and had set up party's district level office here.
