Farmer dies of poverty in drought hit Mahoba
Mahoba, Mar 30 (UNI) A farmer died of hunger and abject poverty in Kulpahar area of this drought hit district.
According to sources today, Chote Ahirvar of Ambedkar village Akona, was reeling under finance crises and debt burden since long.
However, he died late yesterday.
The deceased's wife said ''after getting the news of his demise, the gram pradhan send 50 kg wheat at our house.'' Contrarily, sub-divisional magistrate Pranjal Yadav said the farmer was provided Rs 2,270 under drought relief scheme, besides 15 kg foodgrains.
The farmer had died of fever, he added.
