Head Constable injured as gang hurls bomb at police

Dindigul, Mar 29 (UNI) A police head constable was injured when a gang, suspected to be extremists, hurled bombs to aviod arrest at Pallangikombai in this district today.

Police said on a tip off that certain people were moving in a suspicious manner in the village, a special police team rushed to the spot and cordon off the house, where the suspected extremists were staying.

On seeing the police, one of the gang members hurled a home-made bomb at the police.

While three members managed to escape into forest, five people were arrested.

Later, the arrested were taken to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
