AP Govt recoups pension, gratuity of officials

Hyderabad, Mar 29 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government today issued orders, permanently withholding the pension and gratuity of Panchayatraj department Deputy Executive Engineer A V Venugopal Rao of Visakhapatnam.

An official release here said the order followed the registering of a case against Mr Rao by the ACB officials for misappropriation of funds and causing disappearance of evidence, while on a deputation to state Housing Corporation.

In another case, the government permanently withheld the pension and gratuity of Karim Nagar Motor Vehicle Inspector G Papi Reddy, following his conviction in a disproportionate asset case, the release said.
