T-Series says SMS regarding FIR against RGV misleading
Mumbai, Mar 28 : Super Cassettes Industries Ltd. owner of leading music label T-Series has said that some misleading information is circulating through SMS in the media regarding FIR logged by the company against Bollywood director Ram Gopal Verma.
The T-Series said that Allahabad High Court has only accepted Verma's application for quashing of the said FIR and has fixed July 1 as next date of hearing and in the interim has directed police not to take any coercive steps.
The said SMS states that the FIR shall be quashed subsequently which is purely imaginative as the matter is subjudice and shows the desperation at Verma's end, the company added.
The very fact that RGV has approached the courts to prevent his arrest or any coercive action by the Noida police is a testimony to his guilt.
Secondly, the Economic Offences Wing has not given any deadline of two days to T-Series as whatever documents EOW has sought so far from the company have already been submitted.
Earlier, T-Series filed an FIR against Verma in the Noida Police Station (Sector 20), Uttar Pradesh.
The charges levied on him included fraud, conspiracy, extortion, cheating and criminal breach of trust, under IPC Sections 385, 409, 420, 421 and 422.
Verma had entered into a contract assigning Super Cassettes Industries Limited (T-Series) music rights for 14 of his forthcoming films in June 2006.
The said contract was duly performed and acted upon by both the parties and since then four out of the said 14 films namely Darwaja Band Rakho, Nishabd, Rgv Ki Aag and Shiva have been released by T-Series.
T-Series had also made payments for the same and had also made advance payments for forthcoming films by Verma.
Verma had tried to terminate the said contract in November 2007 on grounds that were not acceptable to T-Series.
Realising that Verma was acting unreasonable, T-Series in order to secure its interest and rights under the said contract moved the District Court of Noida, Uttar Pradesh on January 23.
Instead of defending the case against him Verma has went to the press claiming that documents are forged and fabricated.
He has not specified exactly which document is forged and fabricated. How can an agreement for 14 films, which stands acted upon in respect of 4 films suddenly, become forged or fabricated in respect of remaining films, asked T-Series.
RGV had firstly filed a complaint with Jt. Commissioner Police (EOW), Mumbai and recently filed another compliant at the Versova police station as reported by the media.
