Brahmotsavam of Kodandarama temple from April 3
Tirupati, Mar 28 (UNI) The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) will celebrate the annual Brahmotsavam at its ancient Lord Kodandarama temple in the old town from April 3 to 11.
The nine-day fete would begin with Dwajarohanam (hoisting of temple flag) on April 3. Important events were Kalpavriksha Vahanam on April 6, Pallaki Utsavam and Garuda Vahanam on April 7, Hanumanta Vahanam on April 8, Rathotsavam (car festival) on April 10 and Chakrasnanam (dipping the Lord's disc in the temple tank) on April 11.
As part of Srirama Navami celebrations, 'Sitarama Kalyanam' and 'Pattabhishekam' would be performed on April 14 and April 16 respectively.
The Sri Kodandaramaswamy Teppotsavam (float festival) would also be performed in 'Sri Swamyvaru Pushkarini' (temple tank) from April 17 to 19 when hundreds of devotees would witness the Lord riding with his consort Sita on the boat.
During the festival, religious discourses, dance and cultural programmes would be conducted by TTD's Dharma Prachara Parishad, TTD's music college students and Annamacharya project.
