AP to spend Rs 1300 crore for BC welfare
Hyderabad, Mar 28 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Backward Classes Welfare Minister M Mukesh Goud today said the State Government had decided to spend Rs 1300 crore under Rajiv Abhyudaya Yojana Scheme for the welfare of backward classes.
Replying to a question raised by TDP members Dadi Veerabhadra Rao and Palle Raghunatha Reddy in the Legislative Council, he said in urban areas, the scheme would be implemented by the Backward Classes Corporation.
He said during the last three years, the government had provided assistance to 33,906 artisans at a total outlay of Rs 44.05 crore.
An amount of Rs 1407 crore had been spent for providing assistance to 6.90 lakh artisans belonging to backward class, he added.
