AP Govt to all measures to check bogus enrollment in hostels
Hyderabad, Mar 28 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Minister P Subhash Chandra Bosu today said the government had taken all measures to contain bogus enrollment in hostels for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes students in the state.
Replying to a question raised by G Thippe Swamy(Cong) in the Legislative Council during Qustion Hour, he said the government was not aware of the bogus enrollment in the hostels.
Stating that the local committee with parents had already been constituted to prevent bogus enrollment, he said orders had already been issued for constituting local committees with Headmaster, Sarpanch and one represenative of the local NGO and two representatives of active parents of inmates as members of the committee at the hostel-level for effective monitoring and review of the functioning of the govenrment hostels.
Orders had also been issued for constituting hostel Advisory Committees with local public representatives and officials concerned at constituency-level for supervision in respect of admissions into all government hostels of that area and general functioning of the hostels.
He said the use of biometric system for monitoring attendance was under the active consideration of the government.
When members from treasury and oppostion benches raised the issue of bogus enrollment going on in all the hostels, the minister said the government would look into the matter and take corrective measures.
