Govt issues Rs 9,996 crore bonds to SBI for rights issue

New Delhi, Mar 27 (UNI) The Government today said it has issued bonds to State Bank of India worth 9,996 crore for subscribing to its rights issue, the finance ministry said in a statement.

The bond has a coupon of 8.35 per cent and will mature in 2024, it said.

The bonds will not be eligible for statutory liquidity reserve (SLR) requirement of banks.
