CRPF personnel given life term for RIMS massacre

Imphal, Mar 27 (UNI) The Adhoc Additional Sessions Judge of Guwahati Fast Track Court today awarded life term to four CRPF personnel for killing nine civilians, including an MBBS student, on January seven, 1995 in front of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS).

A release issued here stated that the four CRPF personnel were handed life terms in an order issued on March 17.

All the four convicts, who were on guard duty on that day at RIMS, when fired upon by some unidentified misreants to which they retaliated and started firing thus killing four civilians.
