Airtel welcomes TRAI's move on ADC, to pass on benefit to consumers
New Delhi, Mar 27 (UNI) Leading telecom service provider Bharti Airtel today welcomed the TRAI's move to phase out Access Deficit Charge (ADC) and said it would pass on the benefit to the consumers.
''As a leader in telecom sector we are committed to pass on the benefits of ADC of 0.75 per cent sunset to the customers and will make announcement on the details within a week, after consulting TRAI,'' company said in a statement.
The company added that it is delighted with the government's focus to further improve rural teledensity.
''As a company, we have already taken several measures towards increasing penetration of telecom services in rural India by taking our services to over 3.2 lakh villages,'' the statement said.
The company's roll out in thousands of more villages in the coming year will be catalysed as a result of such positive steps by the government, it added.
