4 naxals injured in encounter in Gadchiroli

Nagpur, Mar 27 (UNI) Four naxalites, including a woman, were injured in an encounter with police in Gadchiroli district in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra today.

The encounter took place when a group of about 25 naxalites opened fire at a patrol party carrying out a combing operation in the forest near village Sutnur in the district this afternoon, a police release said.

Police returned the fire, and the naxalites later fled into the jungle, it said.

A walkie-talkie, two rifles, two live rounds, other ammunition, four detonators and other material, including articles of daily use, were seized from the spot, the release added.
