Stolen vehicles recovered; nine arrested

Kancheepuram, Mar 26: Police today recovered eight stolen lorries and two tractors, totally worth Rs 70 lakh, and arrested nine people in this connection in the district.

Police said a special police team was formed following increased theft of lorries in Kancheepuram and neighbouring Vellore districts. The stolen vehicles were seized after detailed investigation and raid in the district. The arrested, involved in 12 vehicle theft cases in Kancheepuram, Vellore and Salem districts, were later remanded to judicial custody.
