SJVNL to pay Rs 136 crore interim dividend to its equity partners

Shimla, Mar 26 (UNI) Power major Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVNL) will pay an interim dividend of Rs 136 crore to its equity partners of Central and Himachal Pradesh Government during this financial year, a company spokesman today said.

SJVNL's CMD K H Sharma handed over a cheque of Rs 34 crore to Himachal's Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal here today, while the Centre would be handed over a cheque of Rs 102 crore as its share of dividend, he said in a release here.

The spokesman said Mr Sharma informed the Chief Minister that the company had generated 6,343 million units (MUs) of power this year as against 5,941 MUs generated last year.

This was possible due to efficient silt management and effective management of its machinery by the company, he added.

Last year, the company had paid a dividend of Rs 235 crore on a net profit of Rs 732.71 crore to the equity partners of Himachal and Central governments, which has an equity participation in the ratio of 25 to 75 per cent.
