Power grid transmission line bags national silver shield
Patna, Mar 26 (UNI) Kahalgaon-Patna-Ballia transmission line of the Power Grid Corporation of India ltd (PGCIL) has bagged the prestigious National Silver shield for 2006-07 in 400 kv category.
According to official sources, Union Minister for Power Sushil Kumar Shinde presented the national awards at a function held in New Delhi recently.
The eastern region had also bagged the national gold shield for its 220 kv and 400 kv transmission system in 2004-05, the sources added.
The sources maintained, that these awards are given to power utilities for extraordinary performance.
The award was instituted by the Union power ministry to motivate the power utilities to achieve higher level of performance, the sources said.
