Council takes note of misbehaviour by police
Mumbai, Mar 26 (UNI) Maharashtra government was today asked to file a report within eight days on the alleged misbehaviour of police with a legislative council member.
The direction was given by deputy chairman Vasant Dawkhare in the council. He lashed out at the government for not taking action against the police officer, who had verbally abused the Sena MLC, Parshuram Uparkar at Malvan in Sindhodurg district of the state.
Uparkar alleged that he was abused by police but no action was taken.
Minister of state for home Siddhram Mhetre said his complaint would be looked into.
Dawkhare narrated a similar incident when he faced verbal abuse by a policeman and questioned whether the government had taken any action against him.
''How can we expect justice from the government, which honours those abusing people's representatives'', he said and asked the minister to submit a report in the matter within eight days.
