Govt considering WRRA for better use of water
Bangalore, Mar 25 (UNI) Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur today said the state government will seriously consider the suggestion to set up a Water Resources Regulation Authority (WRRA) for better water resources management.
Addressing a seminar on +Water Resources-Emerging Challenges and Options+ here he said the seminar should also lead to the preparation of an action plan to provide improved access to all.
Stating that the assessment of water resources in the state needs to focus on the inter-relations between quantity and quality aspects, he said there is a need to recharge the water table, prevent soil erosion by planting more trees and educate the masses on judicious use of water.
