Vijayawada, Mar 25 (UNI) The Dakshina Madhya Railway Karmika Sangh (DMRKS), affiliated to Bharat Railway Mazdoor Sangh (BRMS), today demanded that the Centre increase the lowest pay scale to Rs 10,000 instead of Rs 6,600 as recommended by the Sixth Pay Commission.
Talking to newspersons here, DMRKS Organising Secretary P S Subrahmanyam said his union would launch an agitation if the Centre failed to hike the lowest pay scale.
He said the Commission's recommendation to reduce the number of government holidays was unnecessary.
However, he welcomed the recommendation to increase the maternity leave for women employees.
