Agartala book fair begins from March 25
Agartala, March 25: The ten-day-long 26th Agartala Book Fair, which will see participation by both New Delhi and Banglsdesh, began here today.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar will inaugurate it at Agartala Children Park this afternoon. Official sources here today said that more than 200 booksellers and publishers, including Bangladesh and New Delhi had participated in the fair this year, while about 300 new books were scheduled to be released during the days.
Asom Sahitya Sabha president Kanaksen Deka, State Cultural Affairs Minister Anil Sarkar and State Commerce Minister Jitendra Choudhury would address the gathering, besides, the chief minister and other dignitaries. Officials here informed that the book fair had been postponed due to elections in February 23 last.
