Two arrested for carrying fake passport

Tiruchirapalli, Mar 25: Airport police arrested two persons for possessing fake passports at the Intenational Airport here yesterday.

Police said the immigration authorities on verifying the travel documents of Padmanaban (34) of Melavadiyakadu village in Tiruvarur district of Tamil Nadu, on his arrival here from Singapore, found that he came with a fake passport and detained him.

The immigration officials also detained Subbaiah (54) of Devakottai in Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu, who came to the airport to board the Singapore-bound Air India flight with a fake passport.

Later, both of them were handed over to the local police, who arrested and remanded them to judicial custody, police said.
