Petition filed in HC to cancel anticipatory bail to accused

Chennai, Mar 24 (UNI) The Chidambaram Annamalai Nagar Police today filed a petition in the Madras High Court to cancel an anticipatory bail granted to Rajendran, Private Secretary to the Pro - Chancellor of the Annamalai University M A M Ramasamy, MP, in connection with a murder case.

The petition is likely to come up for hearing tomorrow before Justice K N Basha.

Police said one Sivasamy, who was running a canteen in the university, was murdered on January 30.

Based on a complaint, police arrested the accused Kumar and Sivamani.

Rajendran, another accused who is absconding filed an anticipatory bail petition and the same was granted on condition by the Cuddalore Sessions Court.

Police said after obtaining the bail, Rajendran started threatening the wife of the deceased and her brother to withdraw the complaint against him.

Based on the above arguments, a petition was filed to cancel the bail application of Rajendran.
