The film won the Children's Jury Award, the Special International Jury's Award and a third award which was earlier given to Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan.

"The journalists of Cairo press made a group and the movie was screened in a private theatre and they presented an achievement award and they told me that this same trophy is there with Amitabh Bachchan and you have got a similar one and so I was really happy hearing that," said Kishan.

Kishan decided to make a film when one day he saw children picking up rags on road. It was then that he decided to do something for them. He thought of making a film on the children, and his family supported the idea.

"Care of Footpath" tells the story of a street urchin who gets to go to school and makes it big, his example meant to be an inspiration for millions of street children, says Kishan.

The 170,000 dollar, 135-minute film is being produced by Kishan's mother, Shailaja, who herself is a movie music director.
