Advani, others pay tributes to Lohia on his birth anniversary

New Delhi, Mar 23 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, L K Advani, and other parliamentarians today paid rich tributes to the renowned socialist thinker Dr Ram Manohar Lohia on his 98th birth anniversary.

Mr Advani, MP Mohan Singh, former ministers Satya Prakash Malviya and Dr Subramaniam Swamy, Secretary General of Lok Sabha PDT Achary and Secretary General of Rajya Sabha V K Agnihotri paid floral tributes at the portrait of Dr Lohia in the Parliament House.

A booklet, containing the profile of Dr Lohia, brought out in Hindi and English by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, was also presented to the dignitaries who attended the function.

The portrait of Dr Lohia was unveiled on May 31, 1991 by the then Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar in the Central Hall of Parliament in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the nation.
