15 dead, 82 injured in holi-related violence in Bihar
Patna, Mar 23 (UNI) Altogether 15 Holi revellers were killed and 82 others injured, many of them critically, in different parts of Bihar during yesterday's holi celebrations, police here today said.
They said among the deceased three each belonged to Samastipur and Banka districts,followed by two each from Rohtas, Nawada,Vaishali and Patna districts,while one from Munger districts espectively.Among the deceased were two women from Samastipur district.
The maximum number of injured revellers,however,belonged to Vashali district in north Bihar where a total of 34 Holi revellers sustained injuries in group clashes in Tangol,Arara,Chandpura and Kartaha villages, police said, adding that as many as 25 other youths were injured in three villages in Samastipur district,also in north Bihar since yesterday.
Reports of violent group clashes among holi revellers also came from Jamui and Saran districts in which 15 people were injured.
