Pondy CM asks officials to assess rain damage

Puducherry, Mar 22: Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today ordered a survey of the crops damage by rains that lashed the Union Territory for the last few days.

This followed Legislator Anantharaman and farmer's representatives calling on him and showing him rotten paddy in the wake of the rains.

Mr Rangasamy sought a report at the earliest for announcing compensation for damaged crops.
