Baalu inspects progress of NHAI works

Tiruchirapalli, Mar 22 (UNI) Union Shipping and Highways Minister T R Baalu today inspected the progress of the four lane road works of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) between Tindivanam and Tiruchirapalli section yesterday, despite heavy rain.

NHAI sources told UNI here that the minister asked the officials concerned to ensure quality.

Mr Baalu, who also inspected the construction of an additional bridge across river Cauvery, asked the officials concerned to expedite the work before the Mettur Reservoir was reopened in June.

The Minister expressed his satisfaction over the progress of the work.
