New Delhi, Mar 21 : The Chinese Ambassador to India Zhang Yan said on Friday that Tibet is China's internal affair and the international community should keep out of it.

Reacting to a statement made by U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who had met Dalai Lama in Dharamsala today and had said that the free world have lost its moral authority to speak about human rights if it did not speak up against Chinese oppression in Tibet, Chinese Ambassador said that any attempt to cause trouble to China is doomed to fail.

Yan also criticised the Dalai Lama and said he is using non-violence to cheat international community

"We judge a person by the deed, by the facts, not by words, people can easily say nice words but it should be supportive with deeds. The recent incident in Lhasa, around my Embassy, around the world has shown the nature of his (Dalai Lama) intention, whether he is really non violent. He is a political figure he used the so called non violence to cheat the international community and to bring the so-called support of the people who blindly follow him," Yan added.

Tibetan Monks first took to the streets of Tibet last Monday to mark the 49th anniversary of uprising day and protests soon spread to adjoining regions inhabited by pockets of Tibetans. Chinese official news agency Xinhua reported that at least 10 "innocent civilians" died, mostly in fires lit by rioters in Lhasa on Friday. However, Tibetans in exile contend that the figure is 80.

The convulsion of Tibetan anger at the Chinese presence in the region has come as a sharp blow to Beijing's preparations for the Olympic Games in August, when China wants to showcase prosperity and unity.
