Thai Princess arrives on day's visit

Puducherry,Mar 21:The Princess of Thailand Maha Chakri Sirindhorn arrived here today on a day's visit to the union territory.

Puducherry District Collector Theva Neethi Das and secretary to the Lt Governor S Kumarasamy received her at the helipad at Lawspet here.

The Princess then drove to Pillayarkuppam village to vist the Village Resource Centre(VRC) of the Chennai based M S Swaminathan Research Foundation and the bio-centre adjoining it. She will have a on the spot understanding of the system for disseminating informations on various aspects, including agriculture, health, education and empowerment of women, among other things, Puducherry Lt Governor Bhoopinder Singh will host a lunch to the Princess at the 'Rajnivas'.

She would also visit the Auroville international city before leaving Puducherry this evening.
