Spurious milk unit unearthed at Rajpura

Patiala, Mar 21: In a major recovery, the Rajpura police have seized 25,000 litres of spurious milk stored in two containers and arrested three people.

Police, acting on secret information, raided a factory in the town and recovered milk stored in containers.

''We have recovered 37 bags of caustic soda, 15 bags of milk powder, refined ghee and some machines used to process all of these into milk'', a police official said.

Police said the arrested persons admitted their involvement in the crime and told their interrogators that they were doing the trade for the past two years and used to supply this milk to various placs.

A case under sections 420, 273 and 274 of the IPC has been registered against the accused at Rajpura Police station.
