No hesitation to contest LS polls: Upendra
Vijayawada, Mar 21 (UNI) Senior Congress leader P Upendra today said that he has no hesitation to contest the next Lok Sabha election from anywhere in Andhra Pradesh, if the party high command asks him.
Talking to reporters here, he said despite being a senior member he cannot declare on his own on contesting from a particular constituency.
'' I will follow the instructions of the high command,'' the former Union Information and Broadcasting minister said.
Though party workers had appealed him to contest from Vijayawada Parliamentary constituency, presently held by his son-in-law Lagadapati Rajagopal, Mr Upendra said only the AICC and APCC could decide on it.
Asked whether he would join the new political party to be launched by Telugu filmstar Chiranjeevi shortly, he said he had no immediate plans to leave the Congress party.
