Id celerated in Gujarat with religious fervour

Ahmedabad, Mar 21 (UNI) The Muslim community in the state celebrated Id-e-Milad-Un-Nabi, birth anniversary of the Prophet Mohammad, today with traditional gaiety and religious fervour.

Special religious processions, ''Jaloos'', were taken out across the state. The processions presented a show of communal harmony and were taken out peacefully. Mosques were illuminated and sweets distributed.

Celebrated as Id-e-Milad-Milad-un-Nabi or Maulid, it is the day when Prophet Mohammad was born in Mecca.
