BHEL pays Rs 298 cr interim dividend

New Delhi, Mar 21: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) today paid to the Government an interim dividend of Rs 298 crore for 2007-08.

The cheque for the amount, which is 90 per cent on the enhanced equity capital post-bonus, was handed over to Heavy Industries Minister Santosh Mohan Deb by BHEL CMD K Ravi Kumar. The company recorded significant growth in its profitability parameters in the first nine months of 2007-08, with its net profit at Rs 1,749 Crore, surging more than 38 per cent over the corresponding period in the previous year.

With another book position of Rs 78,000 crore, at the end of the third quarter, the company expects to achieve robust growth in 2007-08 and beyond.
