Anwar Ahmed SP's nominee from Moradnagar seat
Lucknow, Mar 21 (UNI) Mr Anwar Ahmed will be the Samajwadi Party's candidate for the by-election to the Moradnagar assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh to be held on April 12.
The Moradnagar seat(Ghaziabad) fell vacant, following the resignation of Independent MLA Rajpal Tyagi, who later shook hands with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
Notification for the two Lok Sabha and three assembly by-elections has already been issued.
The last day for filing nomination is March 26, while scrutiny of papers would be done on March 27.
The candidates can withdraw their nominations till March 29.
Counting of votes would be taken up on April 16.
The by-elections to the two Lok Sabha seats were necessitated due to disqualification of the BSP members Bhalchand Yadav (Khalilabad) and Ramakant Yadav (Azamgarh) under Anti-Defection Law.
Bilgram assembly seat fell vacant following the demise of sitting BSP member Upendra Tiwari. Sitting Congress members Ajay Pratap Singh had resigned from the Cornelganj seat and joined the BSP.
